Successful GEP / GLP Inspections: EAS Group

Over the last few months, EAS has been inspected at a number of sites:

  • In France, the Meauzac facility in the Midi-Pyrénées region was successfully inspected for GEP / GLP in late April. The next GEP inspection will take place in Aramon in September.
  • EAS Romania received GLP accreditation.
  • In May, EAS UK was inspected by the UK Monitoring Authority (MHRA) for GLP compliance.  The inspectors commended us on our open and honest approach to GLP.  No major issues were raised, which is an improvement over previous inspections, and reflects the advances made over the last few years.

 Services update: EAS Germany

In late spring, Thomas Kellner conducted a Pan-European Efate Workshop in Stade to EAS teams from all over Europe. This was a very successful workshop, with many of the team finding this a great opportunity to build new relationships within the organisation.
There's been plenty of activity taking place for EAS Germany in terms of training, as well as increasing capacity and awareness.

In a new development for EAS Germany, we will be conducting a large scale seed trial with 1000 plots in Germany. This is the team's first step into the seed business and we hope this initial trial will lead to more requests.

Additionally, a German-specific campaign was sent to inform clients regarding the occurrence of diseases, weeds and insects in arable and speciality crops in our trial facility regions.

The aim is to increase brand awareness through frequent client contact and demonstrate our competencies in a broad range of crops and applications. The campaign will be continued during the field season.

New Guidance on Dermal Absorption: EAS Chem SAS

European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has now published its Guidance on Dermal Absorption (published 25 April 2012). This guidance sets new default values and specifies a range of criteria for the assessment of dermal absorption of plant protection products.

Our specialised team will be more than happy to advise you of the likely impact on the risk assessment and characterise and conduct any studies that may be required.

Open Day in Bulgaria: EAS EOOD

On Friday 1st June, over 30 clients were invited to visit EAS's Bulgarian facility at Letnitsa. This was a great opportunity to showcase the facility as EAS is the only private contractor in the country with GEP certification. The day included a presentation, an update of current capabilities, facility tour and a demonstration. The event was a great success and we hope there will be more opportunities in the future. To further increase visibility, the event will be publicised in an article for an agricultural magazine and newspaper as well as a piece on agriculture for local television at the end of the month.
