Eurofins Product Testing - Bluetooth Testing
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications system intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed electronic devices. The intended world-wide operation led to using the 2.4 GHz ISM band.
Eurofins is involved in Bluetooth technology testing right from the start with
- conformity protocols and profiles,
- interoperability profiles,
- RF conformity,
- EDR (Enhanced Data Rate).
Eurofins also offers BQE services (Bluetooth Qualification Expert, former BQB, Bluetooth Qualification Body) for Bluetooth members under PRD 2.0 (Program Reference Document 2.0).
PRD 2.0 product types - all Bluetooth Products shall be one of the following:
- Bluetooth End Product
- Bluetooth Controller Subsystem Product
- Bluetooth Host Subsystem Product
- Bluetooth Profile Subsystem Product
- Bluetooth Component Product
- Bluetooth Test Equipment
- Bluetooth Development Tool
These products are identified as Bluetooth Qualified Designs, have to be qualified and need to get QD-ID (qualified design ID).

BQB became BQE – Bluetooth Qualification Experts:
Their use is optional but highly recommended by the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group). BQE provides assistance in qualifying Bluetooth products and can perform assessment and be shown on the QDL (Qualified Design List). Members who use a BQE for assessment will not be subject to a random audit.
