Example: kitchen tissue softness panel
trained panelists test the characteristics, which make up the "softness" perception on a paper - in blind test, in order to avoid the bias due to other aspects of the paper (colour, decoration etc.):
-
each item is assessed and compared to a scale of references made up of comparable products
-
the softness panel rates the product regarding softness of the paper, delivering indicators for development or improvement of the product
-
the sensorial characteristics of the product are rated in a controlled environment
