Eurofins is a Notified Body for EC certification (NB no. 0477 and NB no. 0355) on toys in accordance with EU Directive 88/378/EEC (old) and 2009/48/EC (new) and provides the following services:
- EC certification, showing that the toy meets the essential requirements established in the European Directive on Toy Safety(88/378/EEC)
- Risk analyses to identify risks that can arise from the use of the toy or from its being broken, eliminating the causes or reducing the level of risk in the product’s design phase
- Certificate of conformity with EN-71 on toy safety
Toy manufacturers and retailers will find specialists at Eurofins who are qualified to evaluate their products’ compliance with the basic requirements of the EEC Directive on Toy Safety. We offer qualified and efficient service with these aims:
- to help customers obtain products that meet high standards of safety and functionality, with a controlled and reproducible quality,
- to ensure that product innovations are permitted so long as they do not compromise the safety of the product itself
- to offer expert advice and laboratory access to product designers and manufacturers in order to carry out a correct risk evaluation and perform the assays necessary for the product’s certification.
