Mycotoxins

Numerous moulds and fungi have the ability to form poisonous substances and pass them into their environment. These substances are known as Mycotoxins. They become an increasing risk and thus reliable sampling and anaylsis is required. Mycotoxins are most likely to infect food and feed substances such as grains and cereals, nuts, spices and dried fruit.

Several Eurofins laboratories perform Mycotoxin testing (including our Competence Centre in Hamburg) and offer reliable analytical results at short turn around times.

In addition to the state-of-the-art technology used for regular analysis, Eurofins also has the equipment for efficient sample preparation at large scale (30kg) to comply with European legislation.

Selected analytical mycotoxin parameters:

  • Aflatoxins B1/B2, G1/G2
  • Aflatoxins M1/M2
  • Ochratoxin (OTA)
  • Fumonisins (FB1/FB2)
  • Zearalenone
  • Patulin
  • Desoxynivanenol (DON)
  • Nivalenol
  • Acetyldeoxinivalenol (3- and 15-)
  • Fusarenon X
  • T-2 + HT2

Eurofins is a GAFTA (Grain & Feed Trade Association) and FOSFA (Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations Ltd.) laboratory. Eurofins also actively participates in many scientific and industry associations and in the European Mycotoxin Awareness Network
