Eurofins Pharma Services uses all modern screening technologies in the fields of genetics, genomics, protein profiling (proteomics) and biochemical profiling (metabolomics) for biomarker identification and development. The equipment of our laboratories is outstanding as we have e.g. more than 9 LC-MS/MS specifically dedicated for Biomarker research and an extensive sequencing facility at Eurofins ׀ Medigenomix for SNP and pharmacogenomic analysis. We are testing and applying new technologies in the biomarker research in collaboration with several academic groups. We have started through Eurofins ׀ Medinet in Denver Colorado a strategic scientist partnership with the University of Denver Colorado. Beside classical biochemical or enzymatic approaches we can work with your samples on different technological platforms to discover and develop new Biomarkers:

- Single Stage Quadrupole Instruments (Agilent Mass Selective Detector)
- Triple Stage Quadropole Intruments (ABi/ Sciex API4000 and API5000 + Agilent QQQ)
- Ion Traps (Agilent MSD/trap + MSDETD trap and AB/ Sciex API4000 linear trap)
- Time of flight Mass Spectrometers (Agilent TOF + QTOF and ABi/ Sciex QSTAR)
- Isotope ratio Mass Spectrometer (Thermo Electron Delta V advantage)
- NMR Spectroscopy (Varian INOVA NMR 600 and 900MHz spectrometer and Bruker 500)
Innovative data analysis

This broad access to cutting edge technology has opened us new opportunities to develop non-invasive, sensitive and specific diagnostic tools to identify histological and pathophysiological changes. Using the above methods as non-targeted screening technologies for diagnostic tools is not yet feasible, mostly because of the complexity of the data generated and the lack of algorithms to convert this. Eurofins Pharma Services is the leading CROs in the development of predictive combinatorial biomarker patterns. This approach does confer significantly more information than a single measurement and is a realistic and powerful methodology to develop and use clinical and preclinical biomarkers.
