Eurofins offers Melamine testing

Brussels/ Nantes, April 24, 2007

Following the death of a number of dogs and cats in the United States, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) highlighted the presence of melamine in pet food and its ingredients such as wheat gluten, rice protein concentrate and corn gluten. Several products have by now been recalled from the market. Eurofins has reacted rapidly to our customers requests to analyse for melamine in a variety of products and offers the test in several of our laboratories both in Europe and in the USA. The method applied is the method recommended by FDA, derivatisation followed by GC-MS and has been validated through internal ring tests to ensure our clients receive data of the highest quality.

Eurofins offers a testing portfolio containing over 15.000 tests. Based on this very broad expertise, Eurofins is able to rapidly support its customers confronted with new urgent testing needs.
