ELISA Services
Eurofins Agroscience Services can be your partner in Crop Traits development and plant health testing
Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA) is a widely used biochemical technique that utilises antibodies to specifically detect and measure the concentration of an analyte (e.g. regulated and non-regulated transgenic proteins, pesticide or plant pathogen) in a specimen. ELISA offers a specific and sensitive method that is rapid and can screen large numbers of samples.
GLP Compliant Trait Testing for the Seed Technology industry
Eurofins Agroscience Services can offer both GLP field and analytical services in support of transgenic traits and traditional crop variety development. Our staff has developed valuable experience over the past few years conducting seeds and traits research under GLP, APHIS, and customer-specific processes for many research sponsors. We have continued to listen to our customers about equipment and services, and have put the resources in place to continue to grow as research needs increase in the seed technology area.
Plant Health Testing
ELISA can be used to specifically detect and quantify numerous bacterial, fungal and viral pathogens. This, for example, can be used to ascertain qualitative and quantitative analysis of virus content in efficacy studies or to map virus events in commercial situations in order to offer technical support to existing virus control (through insecticidal vector control) products.
Applications include:
- The detection and quantitation of Viral pathogens e.g. barley yellow dwarf virus, cauliflower mosaic virus, beet yellow virus·
- Bacterial pathogens e.g Erwinia
- Fungal pathogens / mycotoxins / moulds e.g. Pythium root , Botrytis grey moulds, Phytophthora spp.
Eurofins Agroscience Services can offer a multitude of relevant services and capabilities:
- Experience of working with a wide range of field crops, in both field trials and analytical testing
- Dedicated ELISA laboratory and personnel
- Detection and quantitation of
- plant pathogens – fungal/viral/bacterial
- pesticides in environmental samples
- transgenic and non-transgenic proteins in plant tissue
- Custom ELISA assay development and validation
- Independent laboratory validation
