UK, Midlands - Potato blight event
The Eurofins Agroscience Services potato demonstration site for 2009 will be located at Barrow on Trent, Derbyshire, UK. The event is expected to be staged during the last week in August (Thursday 27th is currently the preferred date), however, the date will be finalised in early August. This year we welcome back our existing clients who will all be demonstrating their potato blight portfolio’s to the potato industry, and all visitors.
Basis points will again be awarded for the event, details can be found at the information tent, and catering will be available as usual.
This year we have over 900 plots on this site dedicated to potato blight evaluation, of which approximately 50% are available for demonstration this year. Overall as a company in the 2009 season, Eurofins Agroscience Services will be conducting over 1800 blight plots in the UK this season, serving 16 different clients.
In addition, Eurofins Agroscience Services can also offer irrigated/inoculated and natural infection potato blight trials in Germany, France, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

Germany; Stade – Processing laboratory
Interest in the processing of crops has increased since legal stipulations became more stringent and demand more emphasis on this type of study.
In 2008 Eurofins-GAB invested in personnel and food processing machinery to offer a Processing Laboratory as an in-house service; a decision driven by the desire to offer clients complete reassurance that all aspects of the work are compliant. We can ensure that unique shipment and storage requirements are achieved and that the demanded periods between processing steps are complied with.
In 2008 Eurofins-GAB performed 25 processing studies in total on a huge variety of crops (GLP) including apples, bananas, barley, beer, cabbage, cacao (chocolate), cherries, cotton, grapes, maize, hops, oats, olives, potatoes, rape, rice and strawberries.
