Eurofins Agroscience Services offers global resistance monitoring capabilities

Resistance to pesticides is a major threat to crop protection effectiveness and it is now critical to predict and monitor emergence and spread of resistant pest species. For new active substances, a baseline of sensitivity can be established to evaluate the resistance risk.

In case of a non-negligible risk, a management strategy is defined prior to registration. It normally comprise a post-registration monitoring scheme in order to quickly detect any shift in sensitivity during product use.

Field and laboratory based services

Located in a vast number of major agricultural regions, experienced EAS field staff can assist you in collecting pest colonies, weed seeds and disease strains, in field trials or in commercial fields, for sensitivity testing at your own facility or at one of our laboratories. In Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia, EAS laboratories have developed expertise in various disease, weed and insect species. Our expert teams are able to establish sensitivity to your products using standard methods or developing a suitable methodology where necessary.  

Central coordination and advice  

All monitoring campaigns are carefully planned by a well experienced team of scientists, we provide guidance about sampling methods and representative areas for each crop and target. We offer a central coordination of the sampling campaign to optimize the number and geographical spread of sites.
