Open day at Cedar Grove research facility, NC
28 October 2011
A day to remember…
On Thursday 6th October, EAS Inc’s inaugural open day was held at the Cedar Grove (NC) research facility.
With the sun shining and the site prepped, the aim of the day was to introduce clients to the wider team, strengthen relationships locally and also, act as a platform to show our gratitude for the support they have shown us in recent years.
Clients were invited from companies based in nearby RTP – Research Triangle Park, which is home to many science based organisations. The response rate was great – 22 people from five of our largest client companies joined us for the day.
A variety of visitors
The visitors consisted of Research Scientist’s, Vice President’s, Team Leaders, Planning and Contract Manager’s, Biologists, Regulatory Affairs, Field Residue Coordinator’s, Environmental Scientists, Development Managers, Entomologists, Ecological Scientists and Environmental Safety representatives.
The day started at 10am - it was an open and informal day with a group welcome, sign in and refreshments on arrival in a mini marquee in the grounds of Cedar Grove. A group introduction was followed by talks from various experts.
Tours & demonstrations
Clients were split into four groups, each with two guides from EAS Inc and were then led on a facility walk round of Cedar Grove followed by Prospect Hill. Louis, one of our in house bee keepers, set up an observation hive which went down a storm!
A Brazilian twist
The main attraction of the day was definitely the traditional Brazilian BBQ organised by station manager 'Paleta' – Paleta is from the Gaúcho region of southern Brazil, ‘home’ of the Brazilian BBQ so guests were advised to bring a healthy appetite for what was an authentic feast!
He, Ricky and Neta did a fantastic job of making sure no one went hungry - Several clients bought desserts so, there was plenty of cake for afters.
All in all, it was a great day and EAS Group wants to thank all those who attended – you know who you are!
